The ComAp InteliDrive controller was reviewed and chosen as the preferred solution as there were several system functions only InteliDrive could monitor and control. These functions were outside the scope of other manufacturers’ engine controllers.

The functions included the requirement for constant monitoring of the hydraulic systems boost pressure, hydraulic fluid temperature, and the operation of the trolleys vacuum system (required to de-aerate the hydraulic fluid before it is applied to the aircrafts hydraulic system).

The system devised by SUN HML Engineering Ltd incorporates an InteliDrive together with a Remote Display in a Master/Slave relationship. As well as providing system functionality the InteliDrive also provides standard engine monitoring and protection.

The NPU is a 3-phase mains protection unit for applications with generators operating in parallel to mains. It provides adjustable voltage, frequency and vector shift protections to safeguard both the power supplier and the generators.

InteliProtec is a modular panel-mounted protection for generators operating in parallel-to-mains applications. It incorporates a wide range of protection features, which include: voltage, frequency, vector shift, rate of change of frequency (ROCOF), directional overcurrent, overcurrent, earth fault current, neutral voltage displacement (NVD) and reverse power.

It also provides communication capabilities for local or remote communication via modem or Internet.

The advantage of InteliProtec is its flexibility - the user is able to request the specific protection requirement to suit the particular application, amend setpoints from facia and view history of events on the graphic LCD screen.

Dedicated outputs on the I/O extension module provide signals of the actual fault; this can be used for indication or control use.

The small compact starting system from Huegli - Tech AG is a convenient, space-saving option capable of starting an engine without external power and even under harsh environmental conditions.

This package is also designed to fit into the engine frame or genset frame.
