Bauma 2013

HUEGLI TECH, in conjunction with its partner HED, took part in the BAUMA in Munich as an exhibitor between 15 and 21 April. The BAUMA trade fair is one of the most important international fairs for construction equipment and showcases machinery and electronics technology.

Mr Urs Roggwiller, HUEGLI TECH AG’s Technical Director, has been telling Mr Ewangelos Antoniadis his impressions about the BAUMA trade fair in Munich.

What were you expecting from the trade fair?

Clearly, we wished to raise awareness about the new HUEGLI TECH-HED product line and to introduce the products to a range of decision-makers in the construction machinery sector.
We were expecting a range of international visitors as well, of course.

Did HUEGLI TECH and HED achieve the targets they had set themselves for the fair?

Yes, our expectations were clearly exceeded. Evaluation of all the contacts we made during the fair, showed that there is a very high degree of concrete interest into the products.
A number of clients expressed a desire for a visit and for advice on-site, and our EURO and CHF targets will become apparent over the next couple of months.

What innovations did HUEGLI TECH and HED present at the fair?

The new Generation 4.3 and 7-inch display (visualisation) controller. This is suitable for the most extreme conditions (IP-67, 50G, 200V/m, etc) including the military sector.

And of course the Telematic solution, which we installed in one of the trade fair‘s tourist trains. We could observe where the train was and what it was doing at any time and check the operating conditions via the web portal.

Your forecast for the future?

The widespread use of diesel motors with electronic fuel injection and ECU along with the growing need for electro hydraulic control systems means that linking modules via CAN bus has become an important topic.
It saves many kilos of cabling and hoses, and increases the transparency and safety of the system.
This in turn makes fault-finding easier (even via remote access) – all in all, it saves money in both manufacture and maintenance.
